I'm Bruce. I know something about making a little go a long way.
I know what it's like to have very little and still want a life that feels good. After experiencing homelessness and eventually getting a place of my own, I had to figure out how to make it beautiful, comfortable, and mine—without much money to work with.
Along the way, I realized I wasn't the only one trying to answer that question. Millions of people are trying to build good lives with limited resources, rising costs, and a world that seems determined to make everything more expensive.
So I started Better Trailers & Double Wides.
It's about finding the good stuff, making the most of what you've got, and proving that a limited budget doesn't have to mean a limited life.

Recipes, restaurant dupes, entertaining, and little tricks for making ordinary food feel like an occasion.
Beauty, fragrance, style, grooming, and the occasional “wait, THAT costs how much?”
Figure out what the hell is going on
Consumer issues, privacy, money, corporations, the economy, and other rabbit holes that affect your actual life.

I independently evaluate products and services I recommend or link to. If you order through one of my links, I may receive a small commission. That doesn't cost you anything extra.
If I haven't personally used something, I've researched it carefully before recommending it. I don't recommend things just to make a buck. Nice things. Real budgets. That's the whole point.
I also use AI assistance, including ChatGPT and DuckDuckGo Search Assist, as research and brainstorming tools. My articles are not simply AI-generated or copied from AI. I'm the editor and final decision-maker. I don't take whatever an AI tells me as gospel, either. I check the sources behind its answers, consider what can be relied upon, and question anything that doesn't hold up.
I try to be clear about when I'm using affiliate links, outside sources, and AI assistance because I think readers deserve to know how the information they're reading came together.

Meet Bruce W. Coffman
I spent nearly a year homeless, living in a shelter and even on the streets.
During that time, I vowed that when I finally got my own place, I would do everything in my power to turn it into a beautiful, comfortable and inviting HOME.
Living on Social Security Disability has forced me to become extremely creative in finding low budget ways to accomplish that goal.
