A Little Velvet, a Little Holiday: Avon Fashion Finds with Real Budgets in Mind

Holiday dressing can start with two pieces and a visit to your own closet. An interesting texture, a rich color, and trousers that let the top have its moment can take you surprisingly far.
My starting point in Avon’s current fashion selection: a burgundy crushed-velvet tunic and black rivet-detail trousers.
Together, they’re $48.99 before shipping and tax. Finish with shoes and jewelry you already own.
There are four other tops worth a look, too—including two that make toffee and chocolate sound like perfectly reasonable wardrobe decisions.

The centerpiece: burgundy velvet and black trousers

The Crushed Velvet Pintucked Tunic, $30, is my first pick for its texture. Light catches the crushed velvet unevenly, giving the burgundy depth, while vertical pintucks frame the button placket. A V-neck and gently flared hem complete the shape.
I’d wear it loose over black Rivet Pants, $18.99 on clearance. Their straight legs provide a relatively quiet foundation, with small goldtone rivets at the pockets and ankle slits adding interest.
The tunic measures 29 inches down the center back in M and 30 inches in 1X. The trousers have a 26½-inch inseam in every size, so check that against a pair you like wearing: where the hem lands will vary with your proportions.
Both pieces are polyester/spandex, with machine-wash and line-dry instructions.
Important: the trousers are final sale and cannot be returned.
For accessories, start at home. Goldtone earrings could pick up the rivets; a favorite bracelet could do the same. The velvet already supplies plenty of visual interest, so I’d leave the neckline open.
The styling idea works beyond these particular products: pair a richly textured top with simpler trousers, then repeat a small detail in an accessory you own.
What does the outfit actually cost?
For standard delivery within the contiguous 48 states:
Purchase | Merchandise | Shipping | Total before tax |
Tunic and trousers | $48.99 | $8.00 | $56.99 |
Same outfit plus exactly $11.01 of additional merchandise | $60.00 | Free | $60.00 |
Avon currently offers $8 standard shipping below a $60 merchandise total and free standard shipping at $60 or more. No code is required; select standard shipping at checkout. Tax does not count toward the threshold. Alaska and Hawaii have separate shipping charges.
In this example, reaching exactly $60 buys $11.01 more merchandise for $3.01 more overall. That could be useful if you already need skincare or stocking stuffers.
But an actual extra item might cost considerably more than $11.01. Compare the final totals, then ask whether you want what you’re adding. Paying shipping can be the cheaper decision.
Four more tops that caught my eye

Pleated Sleeve Blouse — $39
The Pleated Sleeve Blouse combines a lined body with sheer, pleated sleeves in a color Avon calls toffee brown.
The sleeves are the attraction here. I’d keep them visible and pair the blouse with existing dark jeans or cream trousers. Small earrings would finish it without competing.
The body and lining are polyester; care is machine wash and line dry. Center-back length is 24 inches in M and 26 inches in 1X. Consider whether that length suits how you prefer to wear a blouse.
Whipstitch Top — $38
The chocolate-brown Whipstitch Top has a relaxed shape, short sleeves, and stitching that outlines its collar, V-neck, and sleeve hems.
I like the contrast between its lustrous surface and the more casual stitching. Try it with denim for everyday wear or cream trousers for a lighter combination.
That satin finish is 100% polyester. Satin describes the finish here; it does not mean silk. Avon lists machine washing.
Scarf Neck Top — $23
The Scarf Neck Top offers a quieter kind of detail: an asymmetric foldover neckline with three buttons, three-quarter sleeves, and a rounded hem with side slits.
I’d skip a necklace and let the neckline show. Black trousers already in your wardrobe would make an easy pairing.
It’s polyester/rayon/spandex, with machine-wash and line-dry instructions. Center-back length is 27 inches in M and 29½ inches in 1X.
Two-Pack Mock Neck Tops — $32
The Two-Pack Mock Neck Tops works out to $16 per top, before shipping and tax.
Both are printed: black-and-white floral and red-and-plum abstract floral. These are options for someone who enjoys pattern, rather than someone seeking plain layering basics.
I’d let a print show beneath an existing solid cardigan or jacket, keeping the rest of the outfit simple. Both tops are polyester/spandex and machine washable.
A clearance bargain still has to work for you
Avon’s clearance section is worth checking for wardrobe pieces, but price is only part of value. Check measurements, inseam, care instructions, and the final-sale designation before ordering.
Eligible returnable products have a 45-day return window. Good Buys and items marked final sale cannot be returned, and Avon does not offer exchanges.
Bruce reported sizes S through 3X available for the featured tops when checked October 15, 2026; the Rivet Pant selection also included sizes through 3X. Availability can change.
Prices were checked October 15. The saved pages list current pricing and offers as ending October 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. Confirm prices, delivery estimates, and terms before purchasing.
And before buying anything, try the idea with what you have: a dressier top, simple trousers, familiar shoes, and one thoughtful accessory.
Your wardrobe may already contain most of your next good outfit.
