Two champagne glasses ready for the midnight toast on New Year's Eve

You can have all the fun and flavor of New Year's Eve celebration without the alcohol. I've found some great mocktail recipes and ideas for you, dahlings!

I probably should have saved the best for last but I suck at that. I give Christmas gifts two months early. So, here's a great alternative to champagne for that midnight toast. Mock Champagne made with ginger ale and white grape juice. Refreshing flavor, fun nose tickling bubbles and no unfortunate side effects. Bonus! I'm gonna guess half and half or adjust to your personal taste. More ginger ale for more fizz, of course. Diet ginger ale and diet white grape soda would make a diabetic friendly option.

Cranberry Sparkler using cranberry juice and sparkling cider

Cranberry Sparkler

This one is so easy and sounds so delicious and refreshing I'd make it any time just for a treat. Cranberry Sparkler is simply cranberry juice and sparkling cider. I'm not a mixed beverage connoisseur so I had to look up exactly what sparkling cider is. Don't make fun. My research assistant, DuckDuckGo Search Assist, says sparkling cider is a carbonated beverage made from fresh-pressed apples, offering a bubbly and refreshing taste. It is non-alcoholic and often enjoyed during celebrations or special occasions. Again, I'm thinking half and half or adjust to your own personal taste buds. Or let guests mix their own. What fun!

Blueberry Moscow Mule

I started to not include this one because the recipes I saw called for non-alcoholic ginger beer which some Bluesky friends pointed out can be a dangerously tempting stepping stone back to the real thing for those in recover. Then, I figured out how to do it without that shit. Bonus!

To make a non-alcoholic Blueberry Moscow Mule, combine 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, 4-6 ounces of ginger ale, and ice in a glass along with crushed or "muddled" blueberries to taste. And no, I do not know what the fuck a muddled is. From what I can gather it might be gently pressed with the back of a spoon but not totally crushed.

Since I replaced the called for ginger beer with ginger ale, you'll want to add a little more ginger taste to make it similar to the real thing. You can add ginger to a drink by using fresh ginger or ginger syrup. Fresh ginger can be sliced or grated and mixed into cocktails, while ginger syrup can be used to sweeten and flavor beverages. You can garnish this drink with fresh mint and a lime wedge for added flavor and presentation. It looks like it's usually prepared in and served in a copper mug. I did not look up the reason.

Here are a few other ideas thanks to my research assistant, DuckDuckGo Search Assist. They do great work! Let's raise a glass to them.
