The article I'm linking to here is a prime example of the kind of American history that we have an absolute obligation to teach our children. It's also a prime example of the history that evil right-wing conservatives and GOP like Ron DeSantis are trying to eradicate.
Why do they want to do that? Because history shows us how to defeat them. History shows us the true heroes who stood up to the KKK and other conservative bullies and forced them to back down.
