Whipping their ignorant conservative base into a frenzy of irrational fear and hatred of other races is a favorite weapon of the radical right and the GOP. To defeat them, we must also defeat racism in America.
This is no small task and I'm sure you're wondering what you can do as an individual. Well, I found some really good resources for that. The United Nations has developed an entire program on fighting racism and is using the hashtag #FightRacism to bring attention and awareness to the effort.
Their website includes tools to help you be more aware of and more easily recognize racism as well as how to fight it. It even has information for teachers on teaching about racism.
